This 4,600 square kilometre (1840 sq. mi.) park is adjacent to the world famous Jasper National Park, with four access points that enter Willmore from the Grande Cache area. These sites include the Sulphur Gates, Cowlick Creek, Berland River and Rock Lake. There are NO motorized vehicles allowed in Willmore. Instead, one can choose to hike, take horseback riding trips or mountain bike. The trails consist of historical routes used by the outfitters and fur trappers dating back to the early 1800s. Some of these are: the Indian Trail, the Pope Thoreau Trail and Big Grave Flats to name a few. If you wish to traverse the Continental Divide, several passes are: Rocky, Jackknife, Casket, Forget-Me-Not, Fetherstonhaugh and Morkill.
Hunting and Fishing are allowed. Outfitters and local guides are available to enhance your success in these activities. Maps of the area, DVDs, plus the book, “People and Peaks of Willmore Wilderness Park" are available at the Grande Cache Tourism & Interpretive Centre.
