Partnering for Excellence

Formal and informal networks of residents and organizations working toward shared goals and mutual benefit will be essential for the success of our 20/20 Vision. These networks will result in a stronger local economy and a more sustainable society.

Partners include the residents of Grande Cache, social organizations, First Nations and Métis organizations, educational institutions, health and social services partners, volunteer clubs and organizations, chamber of commerce, business community, neighboring municipalities, arts culture and heritage organizations, provincial and federal governments all working toward a shared vision of the community, long term prosperity and sustainability.

The Town of Grande Cache encourages people and organizations working together to realize the goals set in motion as part of our 20/20 Vision, however, an active and engaged volunteer population must compliment and support municipal efforts. The Town must support volunteerism and efforts to recruit and promote a spirit of volunteerism and discourage the concept of STP (same ten people) are critical to our success as a community.

Our 9 Objectives for Success will serve to assist our partners in decision-making and partnership agreements as well as clearly communicating our expectations. Transparent and regular communications promotes clear understanding of, and alignment with, stakeholder goals and interests, encourages broad public engagement, informed participation, and decision-making and builds trusting, cooperative, and adaptable relationships. Grande Cache’s support of grassroots community groups will help foster a spirit of reciprocity within and outside of the community.

Grande Cache will also work together with neighboring First Nations groups and individuals living on Coop’s to build local solutions that strengthen the respective communities. A Memorandum of Understanding, signed between aboriginal stakeholder groups and the local government, will formalize a key relationship and sow the seeds for a sustainable future in partnership. Grande Cache’s vibrancy and mutual understanding between the two communities will become a model of excellence contributing to our cultural pride.

Grande Cache strives to become a community where all residents take responsibility for, and has the interest and capacity to work towards, social, economic, and environmental responsibility. It is key that all residents of the community understand what sustainability means and that they are aware of the broad vision of the Town and to accept shared responsibility for achieving progress in this direction.
