Playgrounds
The Town of Grande Cache boasts 4 playgrounds located throughout the community. In the summer of 2007, the Recreation Department began their efforts in upgrading and revitalizing all playgrounds. Every year, the Town will focus on a new playground to upgrade, and then will begin creating new playgrounds in the community.

Mt. Hamell Park
Located at the corner of 99 Avenue and 110th Street, this playground was developed originally by the Grande Cache Kinsmen Club to commemorate the centennial of the founding of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1973. In the summer of 2007 this park was upgraded with new playground equipment and landscaping.
Lion’s Park
The Lions Playground is the oldest playground in the community and was developed by the Grande Cache Lions club in the early 70’s. It is located at the south end of 104th Street and 97th Avenue. This park is currently under renovations, and will become the Town’s first Nature Playground.
Phase 5 Parks
A playground located on Stern Crescent was built in the late 90’s in response to the newly developed residential area. This playground will be upgraded in 2008. An outdoor pad is located on Hamel Street used as the Town’s outdoor skating area in the winter. This area is lit up at night and has 2 basketball hoops for summer use.
Mt. Stearn Park
This playground saw some development in the 1970’s but was upgraded in 1990 due in part to a grant from the Grande Cache Elks club. It is located on the corner of 105th Street and 104th Avenue beside the United Church.
